Football (in my eyes)

What is it with this Football lark?
That makes the world quite sad
Watching men kick a ball around
Then fight, well that’s just mad
Football is a funny old game,
Well so it’s been said to me
But I cannot get my head around
All this football rivalry

They look all smiles and so relaxed
When they first shake the ref’s hand
The crowd all cheer and sing their songs
From way up in the stands
But it's the fighting, I can’t do with
If their team, they fail to win
They wait until the ref’s not looking
Then kick someone on the shin

Grown men fall and hug their knee
Rolling about on the grassy floor
You'd think that they'd been shot
Now come on I implore
Maybe if they were naked
While running around the pitch
I think I'd go and watch them more
Yes I'd definitely get the itch

So go and watch your football
I know you love it so
Pray that your team win today
And home safely you will go
