Trap Door

To all that remember the Kids T.V Programme Trap Door which was voiced by Willie Rushton

¯DON'T YOU OPEN THAT TRAPDOOR YOU'RE A FOOL IF YOU DARE!.
DON'T YOU OPEN THAT TRAPDOOR
'CUS THERE'S SOMETHING DOWN THERE.¯

Trap Door

Burt’s busy making meals for him upstairs
Boney sat watching, splitting hairs
The trapdoor twitches, then opens wide
Something 'orrible slithers from inside

The monster moves around the room
Hiding in the dungeon’s gloom
Eats all the food that Burt’s has cooked
Attacked poor Boney, when no-one looked

“Where’s my food?” booms the voice from aloft
It’s in the big monster that’s squidgy and soft
“I know what to do” thinks Burt very swift
Getting behind the monster and pushing it in the lift

Burt presses the button, shouting “Food coming sire!”
If his master doesn’t like it, the outcome will be dire
But soon he hears his master, eating with delight
Now Burt can relax, everything has turned out right

Precious Gift

When you hold something so precious
So precious in your hand
And its innocence and beauty
Falls away like grains of sand

When this precious gift is taken
And turned into something new
It’s hard to comprehend
When it’s lost what once you knew

When you have done all that is possible
To keep it safe from harm
And the trust you had in others
Are the ones that cause alarm

The innocence is gone
It will never be the same
And the precious gift you held
Is not the one to blame

How can you trust anyone
To help and understand
The precious gift will never return
Yet you still hold it in your hand.

Bring Me Love

When clouds depart and rain subsides
Please bring me love to be my guide
With seas of green and skies of blue
Please bring me love, a love so true
When flowers bloom and church bells ring
Please bring me love so my heart will sing
When sunshine melts the snow away
Please bring me love, forever to stay
When days pass by and nights grow cold
Please bring me love, someone to hold
I pray each night to the lord above
Please please please, just bring me love.
